IRIS is the Immunization Reminder Information System. It is Idaho's central immunization registry. The intent is to consolidate one's immunizations into one accurate and complete lifetime record. This prevents duplication of vaccines and saves the patient unnecessary pain and money. It also provides an immediate and accurate immunization record for an enrolled provider and for the patient.

The IRIS program has been in effect since 2000 in Idaho. This web application allows enrolled users to conveniently search for patients and view patients' vaccination records and forecasting schedules. Certain users can create Co-CASA files, Reminder Records and generate several reports.

There are different levels of enrollment. Child-cares and schools can only view a child's immunization record, whereas a doctor's office can add immunizations, use it for accountability and run a reminder list of those who are due for their next immunizations. Providers can even query for immunizations in the state of Washington.

Vaccine records are the only medical documents that can be entered into IRIS and these are entered only with the written consent of the patient or parent. If you want to keep an updated and accurate immunization record in the IRIS system, please contact your doctor or local health district.

IRIS also offers the following training modules for Vaccine For Children providers:

  • Child care - query only
  • New user
  • Co-Casa
  • Lot numbers inventory
  • Reminder Recall
  • Reports

To schedule trainings, call Mareva Kammeyer at 415-5246.
