Marlow Thompson

Chairman

Benewah County

1994-2016

 Mr. Thompson earned his  Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Literature from Seattle Pacific University in 1962. He served as pastor of three Free Methodist churches in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Mr. Thompson was the director of Camp Sanders, a church camp near Tensed, Idaho, for 21 years. He is retired now and serves as an EMT with the Tensed Ambulance Service. He also serves as a trustee of the Plummer/Worley School Board.

 

 

Jon Cantamessa

Vice Chairman

Shoshone County

2009-2015

Mr. Cantamessa is the president of Harvest Foods and Idaho Silver Products Inc. in Wallace. He's a graduate of Wallace High School and the University of Washington. The chairman of the Shoshone County Board of Commissioners, Mr. Cantamessa serves on the Boards of Directors for the Panhandle Area Council, Idaho Association of Counties and URM Stores Inc. He's also served on the Wallace School Board, Wallace Chamber of Commerce and as Exalted Ruler of the Wallace Elks.

 

 

 

Allen Banks Ph.D.

Bonner County

1997-2012

Dr. Banks earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Washington and his doctorate in chemistry from the University of Colorado. For 30 years, he has worked in medical research in biotechnology and pharmaceutical development, including the development of genetically-engineered vaccines for humans and animals. He holds patents related to the manufacture of new therapeutics. Dr. Banks teaches at the University of Wisconsin and is a world recognized expert in prolotherapy, a technique for healing injured ligaments, particularly in the lower back.

 

 

Jai Nelson

Kootenai County

2016

 Jai Nelson, R.N., is a Kootenai County Commissioner. She earned an Associate of Science degree in Nursing from North Idaho College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design from the University of Idaho. Ms. Nelson has worked in the Advanced Cardiac Care Unit at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane since 2005. She also has worked as an Interior Design Consultant in her own business since 1994. She serves on the boards of the Kootenai County Emergency Management Services System, Lutheran Academy of the Master and Region 1 Adult and Children’s Mental Health, and on the Region 1 Advisory Committee on Substance Abuse.

 

 

 

Walt Kirby

Boundary County

2002-2014

Mr. Kirby has served on the Boundary County Board of Commissioners since 2001. He also serves on the boards of the Boundary Community Restorium, Airport and North Bench Volunteer Fire Association.

Currently retired, Mr. Kirby was self-employed as a heavy equipment repairman. He has been a resident of Boundary County since 1970 and serves his community as a Shriner and Rotarian.

 

 

 

Dr. Richard McLandress

Kootenai County

1985-2013

Dr. McLandress is a Board-certified Family Physician and has been a partner at Family Medicine, Coeur d'Alene, since it opened in 1977. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Washington. Dr. McLandress earned his M.D., Family Medicine residency and an advanced certificate in Health Care Ethics from the University of Washington. He was also a clinical instructor at the University of Washington School of Medicine. Dr. McLandress is a founding member and chairman of the Kootenai Medical Center Institutional Review Board that oversees clinical research. He serves as chairman of the Kootenai Medical Center Clinical Ethics.

 

Cornel Rasor

Bonner County

2010-2012

 

 

Cornel Rasor has served on the Bonner County Board of Commissioners since 2008. A resident of Sandpoint since 1968, Mr. Rasor has managed the Army Surplus Store in town since 1981. The father of three grown children and grandfather of 11, Mr. Rasor is the chairman of the Bonner County Republican Central Committee.
