Mary DeTienne, Division Director with Senior Companion

"Home Health enables people to recover in the comfort and security of their homes.

Our visits provide vital nursing care, but they also offer a social outlet, and that's also

vital."   Mary DeTienne, Division Director

Panhandle Home Health began in 1967 and has provided doctor-ordered  nursing

care for homebound patients of all ages in the five northern counties ever since. In 2005,

2006 and 2007, Panhandle Home Health won national honors for surpassing patient expecta-

tions. Patients surveyed were pleased with the high quality of the nurses and personal

care staff and with the respect the staff showed them.

Twenty-three percent of Panhandle Home Health's clients return to the hospital for care,

which is 2 percent lower than the state average and 5 percent lower than the national

average.

Panhandle Home Health is not for profit and locally run. Home Health maintains offices in

each of the five northern counties. Headquarters in Kootenai County handles all referrals

and coordination of services. Call 415-5160 or 1-800-226-2053. FAX (208) 415-5161.
