Conference Features Child Development Experts

Hayden – Panhandle Health District (PHD) and the North Idaho Association for the Education of Young Children (NIAEYC) will feature experts in child development, physical activity, fire safety, math material, behavior management and much more at its annual conference at North Idaho College Oct. 21 and 22.

                  The conference, which is open to the public, starts Friday evening with Adie Goldberg of the Gurion Institute speaking about boys and girls learning differently from each other. Goldberg’s presentation will be from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and is approved training for the IdahoSTARS program. The session costs $45 and pre-registration is required.                   On Saturday, the conference will offer a variety of workshops between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., starting with keynote speaker Ingrid Agnew. Agnew specializes in Brain Gym, which emphasizes the importance of whole body movement in the learning process.

                  Saturday’s workshops include student achievement in art, car seat safety, social emotional milestones in infants and toddlers, memory research and study, nutrition and much more.
