A large project work permit is required for work involving any of the following activities:
- Excavation of more than 1 cubic yard of contaminated soil or debris.
- Improvement of property adjacent to exposed contaminated soil.
- Subdivisions and Planned Unit Developments.
- Building demolition.
- Land clearing activities that expose contaminated material.
Permit Requirements
All excavations, grading, construction, building demolition and certain building renovation projects within the site must have an approved permit (s) from Panhandle Health District (PHD) and other permit authorities which have jurisdiction over land use issues requiring permit issuance.
The PHD permit must be issued and valid before any work permit issued by any other entity is valid.
All contractors involved in excavation, grading, construction and certain interior projects within the site must be licensed by PHD.
There are no fees associated with contractor licensing or work permits issued by PHD..
Inspection:
All work must be inspected by PHD personnel prior to final permit approval. Inspections may be called for by the applicant at prescribed intervals. Lead time for inspections is 48 hours exclusive of holidays and weekends.
Tracking:
Work activities will be recorded in a database maintained to assist land transactions.
