Panhandle Health District Helps Seniors

Panhandle Health District will sponsor a Fit and Fall Proof training on Wednesday at the Northwest Specialty Hospital in Post Falls.  

Master trainers Terry-Ann Gibson from Boise State University, and Jan Mittleider from College of Southern Idaho wrote the curriculum and will provide the 6-hour training.  

Community volunteers will be trained and certified to teach the Fit and Fall Proof classes. The trainers' emphasis will be to increase muscle strength and improve balance in adults aged 65 and older. However, it will not be limited to that age group.
