June 9, 2005 Child Safety Seat Checkup Clinic Scheduled for Friday
|
Panhandle Health District will sponsor a Community Child Safety Seat Check-up on Friday, June 17, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. It will be held in the parking lot of Tidyman's in Post Falls. Certified technicians will check child seats for proper installation and check to see if the seat is on the recall list. Parents are encouraged to bring their children to ensure that the seat provides the safest fit for the child. Children 6 years of age and younger are required to be in an appropriate child safety restraint according to the new law that goes into effect on July 1. This is a primary law and the fine is $60. Lap-only seating positions should not be used with a booster seat; booster seats require the use of a lap and shoulder seat belt system. For more information about the child safety seat check-up, call Pam Cartwright at 415-5144. |
