Panhandle Health District Offers Free Mammograms

WORLEY - Free mammograms will be available to women who meet certain income criteria during a special mobile clinic event on Oct. 18 at the Coeur d'Alene Casino.

The Women's Health Center mobile mammography coach will be at the casino from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mammograms will be provided by appointment only.

Any woman age 40-64 years in the five northern counties with no insurance and/or low income is eligible for a free mammogram. For eligibility information, call Panhandle Health District at (208) 415-5100.

The event is sponsored by Panhandle Health District, Sacred Heart Medical Center, the Susan G. Komen Foundation and Women's Health Check

The program helps those women who cannot afford a mammogram because they either don't have health insurance or are unable to pay the out-of-pocket cost of the test.
